Can I study for free?

Since Tartu Art School is a state school, the studies are for free.

 

Do I have to buy materials and other equipment?

Materials are provided by the school, but it is advisable for a student to buy his/her own professional equipment.

 

Can I live in a dormitory?

Students of Tartu Art School get a place at dormitories (Kopli 1C or Põllu 11C) of Tartu Vocational School.

 

Does Tartu Art School provide upper secondary education?

Yes, if a student has graduated from middle school, they get upper a secondary education (keskharidus) diploma, if they finish their studies.

 

During which part of the week the studies take place?

Middle school (põhikool) graduates study from Monday to Friday, while those students who have already graduated from high school study only for three days a week because 50% of the time it is required for them to study on their own.

Students who study to be a decoration designer, a stylist or a graphic designer are usually at the school from Thurdays to Saturdays. First year 3D Designer programme students are at the school from Monday to Wednesday, while second and third year students study from Wednesday to Friday.

 

Can I study independently?

If a student prefers to study independently, it is necessary to have a personalised schedule. Students who already have a high school diploma are required to be present 50% of the time, while the other half of studies is to be done independently.

 

Can I take a gap year?

Students are allowed to take a gap year.

Where do I need submit my application?

All documents should be uploaded by using the SAIS system (https://sais.ee).
