The ProVEST project—Professionalisation of Teachers and Mentors in Vocational Education to Realise Powerful Transformative Learning Environments for a Sustainable Transition—addresses the urgent need for vocational education and training (VET) to contribute meaningfully to Europe’s sustainable transition. Bringing together 23 partners from 5 countries, ProVEST develops a targeted professionalisation program to strengthen collaboration between schools and companies, ensuring that educators and mentors are prepared to equip students with the skills demanded by the European Green Deal and the rapidly evolving workforce.
What sets ProVEST apart? Its strength lies in the balanced consortium. Anchored by three partners from the prestigious EUTOPIA alliance, the project leverages this European network's academic rigor and strategic expertise. At the same time, its openness to non-EUTOPIA members fosters diversity and inclusivity, bringing fresh perspectives and ensuring that its professionalisation solutions are adaptable to a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and educational contexts.
ProVEST’s outcomes include the creation of extended teams, which foster close cooperation between teachers and mentors across disciplines and sectors. These teams will design and test transformative learning environments that integrate cutting-edge teaching technologies, with a focus on sustainability and digital competence.
A key innovation of the project is its cross-national masterclass, which provides a unique platform for educators and mentors to co-develop their skills. The masterclass offers a structured program combining theoretical insights with practical applications tailored to diverse linguistic, cultural, and educational contexts. This ensures relevance and adaptability for participants, while promoting the exchange of best practices at both local and international levels.
By continuously refining its methods through evaluation and stakeholder feedback, ProVEST will deliver a replicable professionalisation model designed to support VET professionals in driving sustainable change and fostering inclusive, high-quality learning environments across Europe.
